I love this. It needs to be Tonka yellow, though.

Same. That's a new one to me, and I really really dig it

I mean, I like it the way it is, but that grille just screams Tonka truck.

Honestly, I’m considering a Jeep these days. I never got over my rental in Halifax.
If I was looking for a cheap 2 door Sport cloth top, should I get a JK or JL? I don't mind slightly used.

JL has an infinitely better interior, but no real mechanical advantage. The shifter in the JL is a little too “car like” to me, too. There’s just something charming about the long, slow throws of the JK gearbox. Try to find one without power windows or mirrors , as the doors are quite a bit lighter and easier to take off... which you will want to do :)

We do what we can. Of course, I’m sitting at home, doing yard work instead of heading downtown for the festivities. Still, downtown Toledo is much better than just ten years ago. Many more places to eat/drink. I still need to hit up the Black Cloister Brew Pub. I hear it’s very good.

This will be both biased and ignorant because I’ve driven neither.
If you think dropping the windshield sounds like a nice way to spend a warm day, absolutely the JL. ( If you don’t, you need to rethink your priorities in life.)
Otherwise, if you don’t mind the snoozefest styling, a 2012 or up JK would be fine. Or a late TJ. But avoid the early JKs, because that engine don’t hunt, or so I’ve heard often enough.

I just test drove a 2015 JK. I love it. Totally reminds of what I enjoyed from my rental. It was a 6 speed.
I looked at a JL but for like $10K Canadian extra?? Nope

Not a huge Jeep fan but I REALLY want a commanche. I’m not sure how that works.

Curiously enough, that’s about at the bottom of my priority list.
If I’m going to get a Jeep pickup truck, this is the one I want. And it was available, and it was reasonably priced, and it had power steering which my back can’t live without...
...and it popped up in April , as the country was shutting down and I could in no way justify traveling several states over to drive it home.
Had I thought about it, I could have gotten it shipped (probably) but that didn’t occur to me at the time.
So very very sad.

I bought a 1991 Co manche 4x4 new, and sold it nearly 9 years later to a friend for a bargain basement price of $1000 the day before I was moving across the country. At that time, it was the longest I had owned any particular vehicle, and it stayed in my fleet because there was no good reason to replace it. It did everything I asked it to do and never complained. There were minor repairs along the way, some may have been the result of lack of use, because sometimes the truck sat for months. Lately I have been thinking about that truck more than I have in years. If they were still ava ilable new, I would be at the Jeep dealer. Sadly most of the survivors are pretty used up, but I think there must be a few low mileage Comanches out there.
